Mother Finds Kidnapped Daughter On Facebook
A father is behind bars, arrested for allegedly kidnapped his own children from California 14 years ago, and bringing them to Central Florida to live.
For years, investigators have been searching for him, but it was the social networking website Facebook that delivered the break it took more than a decade to get, MyFoxOrlando reports.
Faustino Utrera is now charged with two counts of kidnapping, and two counts of violating child custody orders.
The story indicates that the mother first found her daughter on facebook, and they conversed a few times before her daughter said she wanted nothing to do with her. The father might have used the “mom died” excuse to take them, but he clearly was engaging in some form of parental alienation. For those who think that is because of the arrest, I’ll note that mom tried to reconnect with her daughter before the father was arrested. The mother as far as I know has not been accused of anything by the father, so that can be ruled out as an alternate explanation of why her own children don’t want anything to do with her. It’s an all too common outcome of a parental kidnapping case.

This mother never gave up looking for her children and now she is further required to suffer from the damage the kidnapper did by brain washing them. He should have to apologize to not only the mother but the children and be forced to tell them he lied because he was selfish and only wanted to hurt the mother. Is he ever going to take responsibility for his actions, probably not. Will the mother be able to survive the possible rejection of her children, I certainly hope so.

Stories like this make me cry because I myself did not have such a happy ending. When I finally found my child after 11 years she said, “You was looking for me all those years. I was NEVER looking for you. Don’t tell me I was stolen because I was NOT. I am HOME right where I’ve been since I was 6 years old!!! If you really loved me you would leave me ALONE…”

Not sure. They flew out of Hartsfield-Jackson to Belgrade Serbia the police told me but I didn’t really have any idea where that was. My child called my mother a fews days later to say she was okay and didn’t want to come back. My ex made her call me too and say she wasn’t coming back but he took thethe phone away to cuss me out before I could ask questions. A few years later my mother received a picture in an unmarked envelope saying Kocani. Apparently she was and is going by the name Suzannah or Zuzija. There’s no record of her leaving or entering any country under the name I gave her at birth so obviously my ex renamed her. It’s just a lost all around.

Let me elaborate. In the digital age of MySpace and Facebook I figured my child would be easier to find so I made profiles with our story hoping someone would see and tell me what I needed to know. Instead I began receiving a flurry of hate mail. People saying I was a sorry excuse for a mother and my child NEVER loved me. It started on MySpace in 2005 and carried over to Facebook a few years later. In 2011 I finally said ENOUGH and told my unknown haters that if they knew so much about me and my child saying she was better off without me and wasn’t missing me then they must have been in on what was going on and had better produce some PROOF real quick like or I was going to the FBI with the threats! Two or three pictures they claimed was my child in the years after she was stolen wasn’t good enough for me and after a bit more back and forth my cell phone number was demanded which I gave without thinking and a few days later my ex called me and told me he “had my f——- proof here in this very room”. The phone was handed to a woman’s voice and I said my child’s pet name which only I had ever called her by to make sure it was her. She mumbled then started on the rant I posted in my first post. The phone was handed back to my ex who said,”You understand? She’s alive and well. You have your proof. Don’t spread lies because she doesn’t love you.” So you see I was reunited with her briefly, but have no information of her whereabouts. I only know the name and date of birth she goes by.

Don’t know if this helps but Kocani is a town in a tiny little nation just north of Greece called Macedonia. Although the town itself appears to be very close to the Bulgarian border. The nation itself borders Serbia of which Belgrade is the capital. Just a thought….

@Forthelost,You’re not surprised about what? That my child who was, born on United States soil to a American mother with no father on her Birth Certificate was allowed to leave her only established homeland with a foreign national? That the school she attended handed her school presented her to a virtual stranger and negligently let him take her away from the premises? That there was a foreign passport that I,her mother and SOLE acknowledged parent since birth, knew nothing about and was not notified for any sort input or permission? That my child had a Baptismal Certificate indicating she was baptized in the Greek Catholic Church and changing her name which was later placed on foreign passport, again when I was not notified despite my having FINAL decision on ALL aspects of her upbringing and am actually one of Jehovah’s Witnesses? That I have NEVER been respected as my child’s SOLE CAREGIVER since birth by neither my own American authorities or abroad? A child taken abroad is basically LOST FOREVER because the United States lacks any and all precautions and once the child inevitably leaves American soil it is no longer considered to be an American problem. My ex had all authorities except American ones on his side due to bold faced lies and past drama. He had money and I didn’t. It’s as simple as that and my now 20 year old child is still in Europe over a decade later. The United States makes it VERY EASY to steal children and then does NOTHING to get them back!

I’m not surprised that BetterLeftUnsaid had the ending she did. It’s sadly common.
